Relay training

First training camp of 2008 for the french team, it means a lot of hard training, normally with beautiful weather (like years before in Spain or Portugal). Unfortunately we had two days with snow and at the end of the week with rain. We did lot of relay trainings in typical karst terrains.

One afternoon we visited a cave, normally closed during winter. It was the only time we used our head lamp (for women only, because men did night sessions). A group of 5 guys tried to find the end of the cave situated at about -190m under the ground. Even if they did their maximum, creeping, distorting themself, risking their own life ;-), and destroying their clothes, they could'nt be abble to go further than -140m...

Durty you say?!? Look the next...

We also ran Lipica Open with great victory of Karine D’harreville, Mélanie’s sister. Second place for Amélie Chataing, Mélanie was 4 and Capucine Vercellotti had a bad day on the second race whereas she got the first place on the first.

Coming from the 11 position obtained the first day, Vincent Coupat took the fifth place after a big fight during the last controls with Schgaguler Klaus, Thibaut Magne and Wartbichler Christian.

Before coming back in France, we made a stop in Venise, where we had, for once in a TC, sightseeing in the Lover's City (and also had a very deserved italian ice-cream).

The next step for the french runners is the selection races in one month set on Clermont-Ferrand's terrain. They will decide who will participate at the EOC, and at the WUOC too.

But before, this WE is held the CNE, a club relay by 7 runners (like the Jukola). Gonon's and Gueorgiou's club is the big favorite. The fight for the second place will be extremly hard!

To conclude some nice pictures...

Going over the gate to the cave.

Into the cave.
